Now and then you see a documentary that stops you in your tracks. ‘Escape from ISIS. The story of the secret underground network rescuing women held captive’ which screened last week on ABC 4Corners, is one such piece of filmmaking. I’ve watched it three times now. Please watch this film – see the suffering of the women, the way they are traded by ISIS fighters – even little girls treated as the spoils of war. But see also the bravery of those who devote their every waking moment to rescuing them. Hold your breath as a large group of women and children, having walked for two days out of ISIS territory, are embraced by those who arranged their rescuer.
