Ja feel men’s fashion label: corporate sexual predator promoting non-consensual sex acts.

Australian company, Ja feel, promotes the sexual abuse and degradation of women and girls (as well as pornographic imagery and racist stereotypes) all in the name of marketing their “lifestyle brand.”

The Perth-based retail company, which promotes itself as a clubbing and music festival label and ships its misogyny worldwide, is, in reality, a corporate sexual predator.

You can see how committed they are to promoting rape culture based on images from their social media accounts. Read more

We feel you need to be shut down

(content warning)

Just when you think it can’t get worse…

How is this Australian company allowed to promote the sexual abuse and degradation of women and girls in this way? Perth-based Ja feel, which promotes itself as a clubbing and music festival label and ships its misogyny worldwide, is, in reality, a corporate sexual predator.

Here are some images from their social media accounts.

See how committed they are to promoting rape culture (if the meaning is unclear, the reference below is to a man shifting from vaginal to anal penetration without consent then pretending to be sorry about it).

jafeel_but

See how they love giving women the pornified treatment and teaching boys they are entitled to women’s bodies. (#TittyTuesday and #ThongThursday are among their popular hashtags).

See how they feature even a young girl in a sexually suggestive way, with the elephant’s trunk as phallic symbol (there’s a popular porn- themed racist stereotype in this one too).

And, here are stickers, complete with instructions on sticking them on a woman’s breasts.

Echoing rape  culture slogans, migrating  porn images into every day advertising,  grooming a whole generation of boys to prey upon women because that’s what ‘men’s lifestyle’ means now, Ja feel is building  the scaffolding which reinforces sexist attitudes creating an environment where violence against women is flourishing. We feel your hate.

Please help us shut them down.

  1. Seriously??? This is beyond revolting! Guess these guys don’t have mums, sisters, or daughters. This “company” needs to change their image our simply shut down.

  2. I am speechless. This is beyond sad.

Perth-based Ja feel, promoting itself as a clubbing and music festival label shows their commitment to promoting rape culture. This has to be illegal

  3. I don’t see how such a blatantly misogynist and racist company can be legal. Not to mention how they encourage public intoxication on alcohol and drugs. They need to be closed down. NOW.

  4. This is disgusting. What hope do our children, both boys and girls, have in this world if this is seen as OK? I also cannot understand why the parents of the little girl would let her be exploited in this way??

    1. Agree Sarah. Re the parents, I doubt they even know. Ja feel would have lifted this pic from somewhere and used it for their own ends.

  5. The foul disturbing ad with a child holding an elephant trunk and insinuating black males is soooo disturbing and morally reprehensible that I am surprised you havent been litigated! You clearly have no moral fibre and are purely profit driven. No care for objectifying women or children sexually. Shame on you and shame on the ethically deficient followers of your brand who dont complain! There’s more to life than fashion and brand names!

  6. Just immoral reprehensible and revolting. It reminds me of bogan footy culture….no brains just too much money no morals no idea and no social conscience…. get an education and get some care factor. You ARE promoting pedophilia, you ARE promoting the objectification of women and RAPE. Pull your head in and make money within some kind of ethical boundaries.

  7. There should be some way to stop this. Has anyone tried the ACCC?

There is also the Advertising Standards Bureau that deals with commercial ads:

The ASB has even compiled a list of offensive ads which can viewed here:
    http://blog.adstandards.com.au/2015/06/2015-most-complained-about-ads-so-far/

smartcompany.com.au is also an option as they ar epopular and also publish the worst examples of advertising, annually.

I think the more people address their dissatisfaction with jafeel to the above authorites, the better.
